This intentional design choice demonstrates how cowboy churches develop a rustic aesthetic by using easily acquired objects. In this sense, churches are decorated in a similar style to many congregant homes, ranches, or workplaces. But presented in this context, near the pulpit, the leadership of the church is intentionally mixing quotidian objects with those that are ritually significant for this church.
